Hello :)
Anyone in to play some multiplayer games? Running alone is kinda boring.
First time for me trying this without battlenet/LAN so please write me which additional tools you got and I have to install to make this possible. ;)
Cheers

Welcome to the forum @Web79!

Most people are just time traveling and playing in Single Player, but if anyone does MP, you most likely won't need any tools and will just do normal TCP/IP, Port Forwarding, Firewall stuff.

Hi @Web79,

Welcome aboard!

What version/patch of Diablo II are you interested in, or playing currently? I'm happy to schedule some TCP/IP gameplay with you. :)

i wondered my self how to set it up need like a dum people guide...

wonder if you can get hacked...

Thanks for your answers gentlemen. :) After posting in 5 big facebook Diablo 2 groups without getting any resposne I am positively surprised to read answers. :)I My Lod is at the actual patch but I am open to playing older patches too. :) I think its not too difficult changing the patches even back.
I read somewhere that TCP/IP shown in Diablo 2 is not correct any more and doesnt match the real routers IP but I am open for trying it. If it doesnt work, there are tools which can help. :)
@Manny: How we get startet? If you got WhatsApp I can send you my mobile nummer for for fast chat communication. ;)

@Web79 Haha, I never thought to look for any Diablo 2 groups on facebook. Are they pretty active? Do any of them discuss old school / classic Diablo 2, or are they more oriented towards D2R?

Also, TCP/IP definitely still works, so perhaps some people don't know how to configure it correctly, which would be understandable since it's pretty much legacy tech at this point.

IMO the biggest challenge with TCP/IP isn't setting it up per say, it's that it's super reliant on the host for stability/latency, and it can sometimes be finnicky once connected. The host is literally the server. And you also have to make sure that your copy/platform/shard (to use a Cactus term) matches that of the host. Anyways, it's absolutely playable, and also ton's of fun. I have a stable 1G fiber connection at home, so we shouldn't encounter any issues if I host. 🤓

And sure, go ahead and DM on the forums with your Whatsapp, and we can coordinate on there. (y)

shrimp is making a 1.06b server thing its august something it gos live. atm its testing.
looks like you need a tool to add a server to the list like usa asia so on is how they do it...
might be mods with it thow but i think first ladder might be vanilla

Damn cool news. I hope discord is not a must have, since discord cant be installed on my pc.
Cant remember Diablo 1.00 having these problems with multiple elementar novas by dying bosses, but I remember well experiencing this in Lod Hardcore Mode 1.07. These lightning combinations sometimes instead of lightning animation just displayed a black vortex or no lighting at all (you only heard it) and it was extreme deadly. Friend lost his lvl 99 barb with maxresi, maxblock, fat dam reduce totally unexpected. With all these game errors we all got 20 years older and got grey hair. Blizzard didnt help since they shit on players. If I could go back in time I wouldnt have wasted time playing hardcore mode. O_°

@Manny: Most of the facebook D2 Lod groups seem only to be for people showing off the cool items they found. :( They dont even react when offering a multiplayer game. And yes, most people switched to Diablo 2 Retail, especially after the 8th hero is available there.

@Web79 lmao yea hardcore is a special kind of crazy, especially back in 2000 when I still had dial-up and a home phone / landline that would drop my internet connection when friends called my house. If anyone wanted to drop me they knew all they had to do was dial that number and I would be powerless to do anything to stop it. It's wild thinking back how different things are now.

And yeah I kinda figured that about the facebook groups. Too bad, but there's always The Moving Caravan. ^^

d2r is boring.. i mean i dont might the graphics ya d3 looks better but cant have it all. they change so much its hard to keep up and you wast time doing something that worked in the past...just watch a video of a guy data mining d2r and found the shop changed because the pool of items changed no skill items form gambling...any way he found a way to seed it and get w/e item you want from gambling.

the warlock is so boring the god of them all and i know they do this across all there games but i mean...even after the Nerf it still so op.

i no change has to come but ya i dont no.

ladder was boring too it was like oh you can bring over items from d2r in to the ladder...like why. it was just for sales you get a 99 you get a 99 oh even your mom gets a 99

nexed lader probably even be worse...

anyway there alot of people with probably privet servers my be you got to give them 40 sojs to get in...
