Hey folks, and thank you for all the amazing work you're doing to preserve the authentic D2 experience!
I recently went down a rabbit hole trying to set up Diablo II 1.09b on modern hardware, and I'm looking for some advice on the best way to achieve the following:
Is there a particular wrapper, renderer, patch, or configuration that would allow 1.09b to run at higher 4:3 resolutions in a window?
Any recommendations or experience with this setup would be appreciated. Thanks!
I recently went down a rabbit hole trying to set up Diablo II 1.09b on modern hardware, and I'm looking for some advice on the best way to achieve the following:
- I have two 4K monitors and would like to run D2 in a 4:3 aspect ratio, in windowed mode.
- At 4K resolution, the standard 800×600/640×480 window is obviously tiny.
- I tried Sven's Glide Wrapper, which allows me to go up to 1600×1200, but I'd ideally like something larger.
- I'd be happy with 1920×1440 or 2048×1536, provided it can retain the proper 4:3 aspect ratio and work reliably.
- I'm specifically leaning toward 1.09b (GalaXyHaXz Final Update), so some of the newer options/solutions, such as d2gl, aren't applicable.
