I actually thought the same thing and although I haven't tested it yet, I briefly checked the patch_d2 and found the uniquesitems.txt weren't altered there. So I guess they are modified through dll's, or maybe there's something I'm missing?

Thanks for the welcome :) and for sharing that thread, glad to see we share the same opinion. Yeah, I figured it would be a whole lot of work to change even if fearedbliss did agree and that thread kinda confirms that, as I imagine the dll offsets would pose the same problem for porting...

I understand that 1.09b was chosen because of the ctc bug, but the d2dx glide wrapper which enables widescreen and 60 fps (sort of) doesn't work for this version. Furthermore, there is a patch on phrozen keep that fixes the 1.09d ctc bug so there really isn't any downside I can see to this as...
