I don't know much about MPQ files, do they contain graphics as well? If so, they probably removed a lot of graphics to save some space, and it would explain why some weapons are invisible. All armors are invisble, for example. They will never alter your character's appearance in the Shareware...

That's a good question. Googling for it I found a download link, but I won't link it here because I'm not sure how legit it is. I've had my copy of the Shareware for many years now, I don't remember where I got it, and pretty sure wherever I got it doesn't exist anymore.
