Whats your favorite version?

Hey. Personally I like 1.09b for the Blender Sin build and other stuff, and 1.06b for gambling, etc.

What about you?

1.05b primarily. Then 1.09b. 1.10 is my childhood version but I haven’t played it in a long time.

I'd say 1.05b if just playing through the game to get the story. It feels the most balanced and put together, everything works as originally designed and killing diablo actually feels like a huge challenge. WW barb is such a blast to play there.

But for longevity, I find myself generally sticking to 1.11, as it contains the most content but has awful rune drop rates vs 1.13, so has the most replayability and grindiness of all patches. Honorable mention to 1.07 for some of the buggy builds and crafting, but feels like a beta/cheat code.

1.07 cool magic, crafts and unique levelling
1.08 and 1.09 also have there own uniques
1.09 for 99 p64 easy tc 97 items or w/e they are
1.10 beta cta bk ring
1.13 torch and rune drops

i like 1.07 mostly i guess

1.09 is when I started playing almost right after it was released, so that's the one for me. I still played a ton of 1.10+ but hated the overpowered runewords and synergies.

Then 1.09b

I feel like 1.09 is easier than 1.10 and less extreme for both players and monsters

Its true characters were buffed in 1.10 (synergies), but monsters were as well.

For example skelemancer summons were very weak in 1.09

Yea 1.09b is definitely easier than 1.10 but I like it haha, and yea I feel it’s more single played friendly overall. Although I like 1.05b more in many ways, the simplicity of it is essentially Diablo 1 which I also really like, that simplicity does also bring difficulty so I feel 1.05b is a lot harder than 1.09b and 1.10 in many ways as well, especially due to low drop rates which includes amount of mana pots that get dropped (players 8 w/Singling helps due to increase probability of item to drop at all), but also them not being sold in shops.
