Run vs Walk.

Out of my time with Diablo 2, I have always wondered about the defense mechanic. I know that when you get hit while running your defense value is bypassed, and your block gets reduced to 1/3 it's total value. I have always walked in Diablo 2, and am now wondering if it's better to just keep run on by default. For context, I only play HC SSF. I always walk because I remember reading the manual as the kid about how running was meant to traverse, then stuck with it.
 
Yeah this is definitely a thing! The way I approach it is with my squishier melee chars (and my Javazon) I will switch to walking whenever I get close to/engage mobs. But when I'm chillin in town or just traveling around the map, I am running. I generally never switch to walk with a Sorc because tele ^_^

Haha, thanks. I will give it a go on my next char. I'm not ready to lose this char yet to new methods on my end. 😁
 
its posable its different per patch that's the think about d2 is what works and dosent per patch...
 
1.07 run speed is definitely slower than 1.09 for example, but I believe there are some nice FRW charms and IIRC there is no maximum limit necessarily for FRW in 1.07.
