I have a HC 1.09 Nova/FO Sorceress that I'd like to 99 at some point. I decided that, with block+phys res being so strong in 1.09 cows, I'd make it more interesting by keeping Vitality at base and pushing other stats instead. I've gotten to Hell Duriel but, frankly, I'm afraid to fight him. I know that in 1.09 he still had Charge, which deals enormous unblockable damage, along with Smite and Jab. In Classic, the plan was to get up to a wall to turn off Charge, and hope to block/tank his other attacks. I've been running NM Meph to try and get Shaftstop but would frankly rather move on in the game.

In 1.09 Hell, how much damage do his various attacks do? I'd like to math out how much res/life is needed to survive Charge (non-critical, no way I'm surviving a crit), and how threatening his other attacks are. I'd check the old Arrest Summit but IIRC it wasn't super accurate back then.
 
I don't have the answer to your question but feel you are just asking for punishment with that kinda build lol. I mean, a nova sorc w/ no pts in vitality in HARDCORE??.. oooof.

I once had a max block/high dex meteorb sorc w/ Whitstan's Guard, and it was pretty fun but she was so squishy. Then again she was decked out in MF gear, not DR gear... so maybe it's viable?

Definitely keep us updated on her progress. I love this for the theorycrafting aspect. But yeah, I am a little scared for you. :ROFLMAO:
