Re: Cactus and 1.09b Final patch
Yup it should be. Galaxy just used the regular blizzard updater installation method as the package format so as long as you can get the files out of there and put them in your own Cactus platform, it should work.
Galaxy wrote this:
"To install, you will only need Diablo II Expansion installed. Download and run the patch, it doesn't matter what version of Diablo II you have (1.07 or 1.13)."
So I would say just run any Cactus platform and start the game, then close the game, run Galaxy's updater. Once it updates fine, close the game again (if it opened), go back to the Diablo Root folder and copy all of the needed files (take a look at other Platforms to see what you will need), go to the Platforms folder and make a new folder and name it whatever you want, and then paste the files in there.
Once that's done you can make a new Cactus entry and use that newly created platform.
Remember, Cactus doesn't care about the version or anything like that, it only moves files around for you and some other registry adjustments (like save path). So as long as the mod you are trying to use didn't restructure the game too differently than what vanilla had it, Cactus should work. Cactus isn't a mod manager but it can be used that way if the mod structure still functions like Vanilla.

Re: Cactus and 1.09b Final patch
I'm getting UNHANDLED EXCEPTION: ACCESS_VIOLATION (c0000005)
Here's what I did:
1) fresh install
2) copy-paste all the files from Cactus\1. Files\
3) run FIX_MPQS_RUN_AS_ADMIN.bat as admin
4) run Cactus, add entry 1.09b, run the game, exit
5) run LOD_109bFinal.exe, close the game
6) copy all the files from D2 root dir that are also in Platforms\1.09b\ (26 files)
7) create new dir Platforms\1.09f\ , paste the files there
8) run Cactus, add entry 1.09f, launch —► error
edit: Nevermind, it's just an issue with permissions. Setting 'run as admin' on the 1.09f exe files solved it. Thank you very much for the help!

Re: Cactus and 1.09b Final patch
I'm glad you got it working
.
For step 6, you only need to copy the files in the d2 root dir (since you already patched it). The files in the Platforms directory are never modified (by Cactus, but in this case the patch updater also isn't even aware of the Cactus Platforms folder) so that means the Platforms/1.09b still have the original files. Just copying the d2 root files (the same list of file names that are also in the Platforms/1.09b (as a reference) + any other custom files that Galaxy added (if any) would be all you would need to copy to your new "Platforms/1.09f Galaxy" folder.
EDIT: I think I misread your step 6. Yup, you basically did what I just explained. Haha. It's all good. Have fun!
