Yea I decided to finally remove my reddit account for good (I think this has been the third or fourth time that I've tried to engage with the reddit community). It's just way too toxic and stressful to engage with people on there. Reddit is a good place to read stuff as a lurker (and don't lurk for too long cause even that's stressful), but as soon as you try to engage, it's almost full negativity (or at least from my experience, you almost never know what you're going to get). Let alone the Diablo II subreddit has essentially been hijacked by D2R folks which I'm not fond off.. especially given that there is a dedicated D2R subreddit, but still, people feel the need to take over the D2 subreddit itself... D2R != D2. It doesn't necessarily help that the D2 subreddit mods are also considering D2 and D2R as valid in the same subreddit lol, although I get that they basically want to "stay relevant" since all the "c001 k1d5" are playing D2R now and they probably don't want to lose all that traffic to the D2R subreddit folks. But overall, it's just way too toxic and after trying many different times, and different strategies of engaging with people, it's ultimately just not worth it. I would rather just continue to build up my forum since it is a purely positive place to be in, and ultimately people that actually want to engage with me or other folks in this community in a positive way will eventually find the forum and join, such as yourself .

Back on topic though. I had recommended some video / text instructions for you to take a look at, but given my recent deletion, you didn't get to see it. I highly recommend taking a look at the new short video (29 min). Ultimately you'll end up saving more time watching that video than trying to figure out why this 20 year old game is causing all of these issues, on top of just learning efficient ways to use Cactus, and the new workflows that you are able to now do easily that you weren't able to do before. I made a thread about that here. Hopefully it helps.

The new Cactus experience is incredible. Of course I made Cactus, and as a user of my own product I would believe that, but I think that since you've used the previous major version of Cactus (1.2.4), you'll immediately notice the difference and the impact when you move on to 2.4.1. 2.4.1 is fully backwards compatible so it's a drop in replacement to your existing Cactus.

Reddit... yeah personally I've never had an account there. That type of environment is a breeding ground for worthless posts and trolls. I will sometimes stumble on their posts when doing a search online looking for other content. Lately I've been doing a lot of digging for OG D2 content, and I'm loving that pro tip that fearedbliss shared! Just type "-resurrected" and it filters out much of the nonsense! Man I can't believe I didn't know about that one.

I foresee/anticipate this will turn into a nice, tight-knit community of OG D2 enthusiasts!

P.S. Apparently I forgot my password to the forum today, and I had a nice chuckle when "The Cow King" himself emailed me the password reset link

I didn't know or basically never used the " - " symbol to exclude stuff from search results until ... you know ... D2R came out and then several months later search engines were completely overrun by D2R content.. and then I was just like "I just want to see search results the same way as I use to see them in the old world, the good old days when it was just Diablo II and that's it. You know a clean set of data?".. That's when I started looking into that so once I actually ran a query with:

Oh man, I was so happy to see a clean data set.

@hedgesparrow lol, in this context it just means "original", but yea it can mean "Original Ganst(er)(a)" if you said "Oh he's an OG". Although even in that context it could also mean "Oh he's an original" lol. How do you normally use it @hedgesparrow and @Manny?

@fearedbliss Yup, you hit the nail on the head. I primarily use OG to mean original, unless i find myself in the (very) rare conversation with someone about rap or something like that. I mean, 2Pac is still out there guys.

@hedgesparrow Welcome to the club. Also congrats on being the first Skeleton in The Moving Caravan. I'm planning on refining the rank system in the future. I just made some basic levels when I launched the forum but over time I'll bring in more monsters and stuff lol.

So I actually got everything working again except my loot filter.... Oddly enough, I got 1.13c working with pluggy through Cactus. Didn't update anything, just copied some files over haha.
