Alright. I'm finally getting around to making a character that I've been wanting to seriously make for a long time, a Poison Nova necromancer. Poison Nova Necro was actually one of the earliest spells that I saw in Diablo II when I first saw the game as a kid. It was the move that I remember the most that made me fall in love with the game and made me want to check it out in the first place. I'm very interested to see how effective PN/LR Necro is in 1.05b. I will also be combining IM/BG with this char as well and leave out any of the spells/build combinations that weren’t as effective (or didn’t match my play style) I did with my previous 1.05b Lvl 64 Necro, ContriClu.

Haha @Manny welcome back. The teacher (Maestro) is so enlightened that he doesn't even need to level beyond 1 to know the truth about reality .
LMAO... facts
Will stay tuned on your progress with Karma. I like the plan for the build too, it's unique, and sounds like it could be a lot of fun.
Finished A1. It was rough since the Necro is pretty weak in the beginning and I have no items lol. I was able to get Iron Maiden though so that's already massively helping. Leveling is starting to pick up a bit now that monsters can essentially kill themselves haha. Gonna work my way up to 18 so I can get Blood Golem, and then it's GG for all Melee monsters pretty much. IM will be pumped as well. Corpse Explosion is at level 8 with a Radius of 5 ;D. I still need to carefully manage my mana though. My ability to tank monsters is also important. Karma will basically be a Melee tank which will eventually also have poison nova at 30. Gonna be interesting but I am expecting some minor pivots and optimizations as I go.
PS: The "Storm Fang" was what I got from Imbue quest .

Bro... why on God's green earth would you imbue a dirk is the question?!
You gotta save those man...
Alright so on a Necro, hmm... well, just think which slots wouldn't ideally be filled with uniques, and there you go.
Personally I'd save the remaining two for a nice white wand and/or shield (wait for a luna/heater for low str req), assuming you haven't found a Homunculus by then (probably very rare item in 1.05b)
@Manny Lol I don't have the luxury of saving them. Gear is really hard to find and I might even up quitting before even reaching a certain point in the game where I would even have a base that I would want to use it on. I'm not trying to min-max at the early stage. As long as the character can keep progressing and doesn't end up getting stuck, that's all that matters. Remember that I usually play untwinked for all the characters and I don't share gear, so it's not like I'm going to be handing down any of this gear to future characters. The characters will just progress once (if they even get that far). As for the dirk, I usually end up imbuing a War Scepter or a Flail since I've gotten good results on them before, but this time I wanted to experiment with the Dirk since it's a dagger class and the Necro does have "Poison Dagger", it may have been an interesting experiment in the early game ;D. There have been runs where either my imbue quest was the only weapon I used for the whole play through in Normal lol, or maybe I just happen to find one rare weapon.
If you ever do 1.05b solo/untwinked, let me know if you end up saving your imbue quest till X point in the future haha, I believe you will use it far before that happens.

Alright, fair enough. I definitely have an LOD + twinking mindset since birth, so you got me there.
But is gear THAT hard to obtain in 1.05b? Dang, this is kind of making me want to try some Classic this weekend to see what it was like in the olden days, lol. When a man is forced to imbue a white dirk, you know times are tough.
@Manny Lol yea it’s difficult. It definitely has that Diablo 1 vibe <3. You gotta give it a shot solo, you won’t regret it haha. You’ll appreciate 1.09b even more after you have that experience. Although don’t get me wrong, if you could save your imbue tell end game that would be great, but when you are going untwinked, you really are playing with scraps haha. The wonderful thing also is that even though 1.05b and 1.09b classic are different, 1.09b classic also is fun too, especially with all of the refinements to the game.

You sold me on gaining some more perspective. Word. I am definitely thinking it's about time to bring BabaFett out of retirement
