Hey all,

After thinking about this for a few days and also listening to user feedback, I’ve decided to re-add and continue to maintain 1.00, 1.07, and 1.08. As you all know, I’m a big fan of documenting and preserving the history of the game and without a doubt, these three versions are literally critical in the story of the game since that’s where a lot of crazy stuff happened and were introduced. I love the crazyness and buggyness of them but the main reason I removed them (as mentioned here) was really because I didn’t want new users to be misled by the stability and popularity of these highly unstable patches, which could potentially taint their experience of Original Classic (prelod), and Original Expansion (pre 1.10). However, instead of just flat out removing them completely, I decided to add them back in but add clear recommendations in the Singling readme (Which I hope most people will read, but not everyone will :(). The Singling readme will be marked as follows:

Supported Versions

  • 1.00
  • 1.05b (Recommended - Most Stable Original Classic.)
  • 1.07
  • 1.08
  • 1.09b (Recommended - Most Stable Original Expansion.)
  • 1.10 (Recommended - New Expansion. Final Blizzard North Patch.)

This way new users could have some guidance on where to start. The Patch Rationale section also contains the \"Recommended\" tags as well. Hopefully this helps.

I’ve also included the latest players command fixes that I did for 1.05b to 1.00, 1.07, and 1.08, so they are all the same and up-to-date. The latest Singling is included as part of Cactus.

Have fun and Happy Singling!

I think this is a good balance. Making your opinion clear and making recommendations but let the user decide which patch to play. There are clear reasons to play 1.00, 1.07 and 1.08 so it didn’t feel right to remove the support completely.
